A Monster Truck Show as we know it today was born in 1982 at the Pontiac Silverdome when Bob Chandler driving BigFoot (the original Monster Truck) drove over a pile of cars in front of an enthusiastic crowd. Usually, a monster truck show involves the truck crushing smaller vehicles beneath its huge tires. These trucks can run up and over most man-made obstacles. A monster truck is a vehicle, typically styled after pickup trucks, sports cars or classic and themed automobiles modified or intentionally built with large / heavy wheels and heavy duty suspension.
They compete as well as exhibit at popular Motorsports Entertainment and can be seen featured alongside Motocross races, mud bogging, tractor pulls and tansformers. In recent years, many monster truck competitions include a "freestyle" event. Similar to free style motorcross with giant trucks, drivers are free to select their own course around the track and its obstacles. Drivers will often perform a power 'Donut', also called a Cyclone, spinning the truck in a high speed circle. This is one of the most exciting motorsports events for the entire family.

The Demolition derby is a spectator-favorite motor-sport often presented at county fairs and festivals on dirt tracks, or in open fields, that are usually soaked with water. The sport originated in the United Statesback in the 1950's and quickly spread to other western nations. While rules vary from event to event, the typical demolition derby event consists of ten or more drivers who compete by intentionally crashing their vehicles into one another. The last driver whose vehicle is still running - wins.
Demolition derbies can be dangerous but serious injuries are unusual. The derby vehicles are stripped of interior items, trim, plastic, lights, and glass, and are repainted in loud, colored designs. Additional modifications include trimming sheet metal from around the wheel wells, removing parts of bumpers, welding the doors shut, and relocating the battery and gas tank. Occasionally frames are notched, rear bumpers removed, trunk lids notched, and rear coil springs (when rules allow) replaced with leaf springs to make the cars last longer. In many instances, roll bars, fire extinguishers, and other safety equipment is installed.
Competitors traditionally used full-size, American made sedans purchased from junk yards. With the dwindling availability of older vehicles, smaller full-sized vehicles of the 1980s and 1990s are more frequently used today. A separate class of demolition derby for compact cars (the advantage of an abundant supply being available) is increasing in popularity. Derby events are real crowd pleasers!

Freestyle Motocross (FMX)Freestyle Motocross (FMx) is a the incredible evolution of motocross racing in which motorcycle riders attempt to impress judges (and the crowds) with hair-raising jumps and stunts. Riders display their jumps - usually covering more than 60 feet - from a dirt-covered ramp. Riders demonstrate their abilities by looking for difficult tricks and variations over jumps. FMX riders typically use much of the same riding gear as MX racers including a helmet, goggles, gloves, boots, jersey and MX pants often elbow and knee pads. Riders may also choose to wear 'body armor' to protect the chest and legs when performing the most dangerous of tricks.
Riders use modified motocross bikes with after market parts to lower weight and improve performance. Riders will often shave down the seat foam and add steering stabilizers. Many riders will also shorten the width of the handle bars, to make it easier to put the legs around the bars. Excess cables, such as brakes and clutch cables are usually redirected away from the bars, to avoid riders getting their boots caught on the bike. The engine and mechanical details of a FMX bike are generally stock.

Tough Truck RacingTuff Truck racing is an exciting off-road racing event consisting of modified trucks (and sometimes stock trucks for fun) going around a Motocross-style course filled with different jumps, bumps and turns. Similar events held in indoor arenas are called Pro Arena Truck racing. Trucks are usually run one at a time, with the quickest time winning. Sometimes events feature trucks two at a time for added spectacle. Tuff Truck racing is usually seen at Monster Truck or other Motorsports events. Tuff Trucks are usually pickup trucks that have been upgraded to resist the rigors of the arena unpaved track.

Mud Drags (also known as mud racing, mud running and mud bogging) is an exciting (and messy) form of off-road motorsport popular throughout North America and growing in popularity in other countries. The goal of a mud drag is to drive a vehicle through a pit of mud as far and as fast as you can. Winners are determined by how far a distance traveled through the pit and in the case that several vehicles are able to travel the entire length, the fastest time to get through the pit. Typically, mud drag vehicles are four-wheel drives including pickup trucks or sport utility vehicles modified with lifted suspensions and larger tires. Engine upgrades and supercharges are also common. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, large tractor tires became popular, and the drive lines required to run such tires led to some of the first purpose-built mud drag vehicles. Today, many sanctioning bodies give precedence to vehicles with modified, and lower, dragster-type "rail designs" because of their popularity with mud drag fans.

Bull RidingProfessional Bull riding is the "original extreme sport". Bull riding is a rodeo sport that involves the bull rider getting up on a large bull and doing his very best to stay on top for at least 8 seconds. The rider tightly fastens one hand to the bull with a long braided rope and while the rider attempts to stay mounted the bull naturally attempts to throw him off. It is a risky sport and has been called "the most dangerous eight seconds in sports. The bull rider's primary piece of equipment is the bull rope a braided rope of polypropylene, grass, or some combination. A metallic bell is strapped to the rope and hangs directly under the bull throughout the ride. In addition to the sound the bell produces, it also gives the rope some weight, allowing it to fall off the bull once a rider has dismounted. Bull riding is a family favorite!
